Professor Yahia Djaafri

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the digital space of the University of Continuing Education – Didouche Mourad, an institution whose mission is founded on access to knowledge, lifelong learning, educational innovation and service to society.

Our University is entering a new stage in its development, strengthened by Executive Decree No. 26-67 of 13 January 2026, which broadened its missions and renewed its institutional framework. This transformation confirms the University's position as a national leader in distance, blended and continuing education, capable of responding to the scientific, technological and professional changes shaping today's society.

Our central mission is to expand access to high-quality higher education and enable people from all backgrounds to develop their knowledge and skills throughout their academic and professional lives. Through its extensive network of centres across Algeria, the University brings education closer to citizens, contributes to reducing geographical disparities and supports local development, while offering learners the flexibility and guidance they need wherever they may be.

The University provides Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes through distance and blended learning in a broad range of fields, including economics, business and management, law and political science, humanities and social sciences, media and communication, literature and foreign languages, mathematics and computer science, as well as programmes related to science and technology, architecture, urban planning and urban professions.

We also develop continuing education, qualifying and certificate-awarding programmes, together with customised training for employees, executives, public administrations and economic organisations. These programmes are designed to strengthen skills, update knowledge, support professional mobility, improve employability and recognise prior learning and professional experience. Our new framework also allows us to expand flexible and adaptable learning opportunities and welcome international students, thereby strengthening the University's international profile and cooperation.

Digital transformation lies at the heart of our institutional identity. We are therefore investing in educational platforms, digital learning resources, interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning, and audiovisual content. Particular attention is also given to preparing academic staff, online tutors and administrative teams for digital learning design and innovative teaching practices.

Our mission extends beyond education to include scientific research, technological development, innovation and entrepreneurship. Through our research laboratories, Artificial Intelligence Hub, Business Incubator, Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Technology and Innovation Support Centre, we seek to connect knowledge with real-world needs, promote applied research, support student entrepreneurs and develop solutions with meaningful economic and social impact.

This institutional journey reached an important milestone in 2026 when the University was awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system, following the successful completion of internal and external audits. This achievement reflects our commitment to sound governance, well-controlled processes, clearly defined responsibilities, measurable performance and the continuous improvement of our academic and administrative services.

We do not regard this certification as an end in itself. It represents an institutional responsibility and a foundation for strengthening a lasting culture of quality, transparency and excellence across all University structures and centres, while continually improving the experience and satisfaction of students, learners and partners.

Our future vision is centred on the gradual transition towards 'UFC 4.0': a smart, flexible, open and socially engaged university. Our priorities include the comprehensive digitalisation of services, the development of an integrated national e-learning ecosystem, the responsible use of artificial intelligence and data, performance-based governance, and more interactive and innovative education that responds effectively to society's evolving needs.

We also aim to expand partnerships with universities, research centres, public institutions and businesses, both nationally and internationally. These partnerships will support interdisciplinary learning, academic mobility, knowledge exchange and the development of programmes aligned with emerging professions and the knowledge economy.

Achieving this vision is a shared responsibility. It calls upon the commitment of our academic staff, researchers, students, employees, leaders and partners. Through their expertise, dedication and spirit of initiative, we will continue to build an accessible, innovative and high-quality university that places learners at the centre of its priorities and contributes actively to sustainable development and the future of Algeria.

Welcome to the University of Continuing Education: a university of renewed opportunities, accessible knowledge, quality and innovation in the service of the future.
